  • Dress Code

Please see the Student/Parent Handbook for full explanation of policies.

The POGC dress code is based on the biblical principles of dress and appearance: modesty, neatness, and appropriateness. Therefore, the goal of the POGC dress code is to ensure our students dress in a manner that is clean, conservative, and modest. Without exception, student’s clothing must be appropriate for a Christian School.

  • Weather Policy

Please see the Student/Parent Handbook for full explanation of policies.

    • POGC Administration is responsible for the safety of POGC staff and students regarding severe and inclement weather. POGC Administration shall monitor the weather daily and be prepared to initiate applicable actions regarding weather and safety.
    • Closure and reopen notifications will be posted on the school’s website, FB page, and will be mass texted.
  • Medication Policy including Distribution

    • At no time will classroom teachers, teacher’s aides, or any non-office staff give medication to students without prior approval from the school office. (With the exception of their own children.)
    • Students may be given over-the-counter medications if their parents/guardians have authorized the administration of these medicines on the school enrollment form.
    • Prescription medicines will only be administered with a valid and current prescription. The student’s printed name and appropriate medical label on the medicine will fulfill this requirement.
  • Visitors

POGC welcomes parents, family members, and guests during the school day. However, the safety and security of our students is our primary concern. Therefore, all visitors must sign in with the school office immediately upon arrival on campus and must sign out in the school office when leaving.

    • Visitors who are unknown to the office staff will be required to show a minimum of one form of government-issued identification before being allowed access to the school.
    • Visitors are allowed only in the areas of the school identified during sign in.
    • Visitors are required to display their visitor badge during the entire duration of their visit.
    • Visitors must adhere to the POGC dress code listed in POGC Policy #03.
    • Visitors to Chapel and special event days (e.g., fall festival, etc.) will be checked in by school staff at the event.
    • Extended classroom visits are generally discouraged as they are a distraction to the teaching staff and the students. Visitors who request extended classroom visits or observations must receive prior permission from POGC Administration.

Tutoring

POGC offers two options for students who need academic assistance through tutoring. Students needing tutoring will be identified by their teachers, parents, and through testing. Depending on their needs, some students will receive in-house tutoring during the school day. This tutoring is done individually or in small groups outside of the classroom.

Starting in the fall, POGC also offers after-school tutoring for selected students. The after-school tutoring programs consist of one hour on Tuesdays and Thursdays at no cost to families. POGC’s Academic Services Administrator will identify students eligible for the after-school tutoring program.

Any questions about tutoring can be directed to our Academic Services Administrator, Mrs. Stephanie Towles / stowles@pointofgracechristian.com

After-School Care

POGC offers after-school care from school dismissal to 5:30. Our after-school program is non-committal, so it doesn’t matter if your child stays one time or 180; you only pay for the days the service is used. Parents who need after-school care can contact the school office at 850-584-5445 for more information on rates and availability.
